Governor Pete Ricketts is fine after being involved in a traffic accident.
It happened just before 7 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 13th and Washington streets in downtown Lincoln.
The governor and a state trooper, who was driving their vehicle, were not injured.
“I was on my way to an appointment and our perception was the car ran a stop sign and we hit the car,” Gov. Ricketts says. “My trooper is fine. I’m fine. I think as a precaution, they took the other driver to the hospital, but when I was talking to him, he was able to get out of the car and talk to me.”
Officers say the driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has been released.
They cited 56-year old Richard Deollos for failure to stop.
