Natalie Romeo equaled a school record with eight three pointers and finished with 30 points as the Nebraska women’s basketball team beat Wisconsin 75-62 in Pinnacle Bank Arena. It was the second time in two weeks Romeo the three point record.
“Natalie was terrific tonight, and not just on the offensive end,” Nebraska Coach Connie Yori said. “She chased Wisconsin’s guards all over the place for 40 minutes and not only forced steals, she also got a number of hustle rebounds for us, which were huge.”
Romeo wasn’t the only Husker who enjoyed a career night. Junior center Allie Havers posted her second career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, while adding an assist, two blocks and a steal. Her first double-double came earlier this season with 14 points and 12 boards in a win over Evansville.
Nebraska notched its sixth straight Big Ten win to improve to 15-5 overall and 6-3 in the conference, while Wisconsin slipped to 6-13 and 2-7 with its fifth straight loss.
