The Nebraska Department of Roads reports many roadways are still impassable Wednesday morning. Some of those are completely covered with snow.
According to NDOR, roads crews continue to work on highways southwest and south central Nebraska. Travel remains difficult and is strongly discouraged due to zero visibility and drifting snow.
Specifically, Interstate 80 is closed in the following places as of 7 a.m.:
- Between Exit 257: US 183; Holdrege;Elm Creek (15 miles west of Kearney) and Exit 369: NE 80E Link; Beaver Crossing (13 miles east of York). The road is closed.
- Between Exit 399: Lincoln Municipal Airport (Lincoln) and Exit 366: NE 80F Link; Utica (13 miles east of York). The road is closed.
- Between Exit 179: NE 56G Link; North Platte (North Platte) and Exit 263: NE 10B Link; Odessa (16 miles west of Kearney). The road is closed.
