With two games remaining in the regular season the Nebraska women’s basketball team needs wins to improve its NCAA profile and the Huskers will get another chance on Wednesday night when they host Indiana.
At 8-8, the Huskers are part of a three way tie for sixth place with Purdue and Michigan.
“We have obviously got to win some games”, said Nebraska coach Connie Yori. “We have talked about it as a team.”
Injuries mean some younger players will be counted on for larger roles. Kyndal Clark is lost for the season with a knee injury and Rachel Theriot missed Sunday’s loss to Purdue with an injured foot. That meant additional minutes for sophomore Jasmine Cincore and freshman Maddie Simon.
“We are getting are young player a lot of opportunity and our freshman and sophomore classes can hopefully grow from it.”, said Yori. Those are kids that you hope those minuites will be valuable for down the road.”
Indiana is tied with Minnesota in fourth place in the Big Ten with a record of 10-6.
