Sarpy County authorities have released the name of the man killed in a fiery car crash in the Omaha area February 24th.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as 61-year-old Richard Wilcoxson of Bedford, Iowa.
The sheriff’s office reported at the time Wilcoxson was driving the wrong way on Highway 75 near Cornhusker Road just prior to 3 a.m. in late February. The sports utility vehicle Wilcoxson was driving was fully engulfed in flames upon impact. Wilcoxson died in the flames.
The truck driver, 52-year-old Milos Forcan of Des Moines, Iowa, refused medical treatment after being taken to Bellevue Medical Center.
Sarpy County authorities say they aren’t sure why Wilcoxson was driving the wrong way.
Authorities say the accident remains under investigation, pending autopsy and toxicology reports.
