Today is National Pancake Day and there is a great way to enjoy this sweet treat and help out an important cause. Children’s Hospital and Medical Center’s Director of Development Jane Phillips says IHOP will be offering each guest a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes today. She says diners have the option to make a donation that will benefit the hospital.
Phillips says, “All the money will stay right here to help the kids we serve right here in our region.”
In 2015, IHOP guests in Omaha, Lincoln, La Vista and Bellevue donated nearly $6,000 that benefitted Children’s Hospital. Phillips says that money helps fund a number of programs that receive no reimbursement. This includes upkeep of the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House, a home away from home for parents with children who are patients at the hospital.
IHOP served 6.6-million free pancakes on National Pancake Day last year and customers donated $3.5-million to children’s charities nationwide.
