A little girl was reunited with her parents after she was found wandering in the street near 40th and Vinton in Omaha Monday afternoon. Police were called to the area just after 3 p.m. Officers say the little girl was not able to tell them her name, her parent’s name or where she lived. Officers checked with residents in the area but no one was able to identify the girl.
At 7 p.m., officers located a man who appeared to be looking for someone in the area of 40th and Frederick Street. Officers stopped and talked to 43 year old Isaac Classic and said he was looking for his daughter, Christaine. Officers spoke with a neighbor who said that around 1 p.m. Christaine was going in and out of an open basement window. Classic told officers he thought Christaine was napping in the basement and went to check on her at 6:40 p.m. and saw that she was gone.
Classic was cited for child neglect.
