Seton Hall scored the final eight points of the game as the Pirates beat Creighton 81-73 in the quarterfinal round of the Big East Tournament.
Cole Huff had a career-high 35 points for the Bluejays as they roared back from a 14 point second half deficit to tie the game with just over a minute remaining.
“I could not be more proud of my team”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “We made some mistakes late that add up in the end but that is not what I want these guys to take away from the season.”
James Milliken had 18 points and Geoffrey Groselle added 12 and Creighton was outrebounded 45-25. The Bluejays are 18-14 and must now wait to see if their season continues.
“I hope we get the opportunity to play some more”, said McDermott. “I think we are N-I-T worthy and I think a lot of people saw that tonight.”
