A 39-year-old Omaha man has been charged with motor vehicle homicide, driving drunk, and willful reckless driving in a near head-on collision Sunday evening that left one man dead and his grandson injured.
The Omaha Police Department reports 60-year-old Carl Gauff of Omaha died from injuries sustained in the crash. He and his grandson, 15-year-old Dontae Chavez, were taken to Nebraska Medicine after the wreck Sunday evening at 36 and L. Gauff died at the hospital.
David Moshawosh Hadi was treated after complaining of chest pains. He is charged with motor vehicle homicide, DUI causing death/serious bodily injury, and willful reckless driving.
According to the police report, Hadi was driving fast on L and going the wrong way, when he hit Gauff’s car nearly head-on.
