Mary and Eric Tepley of Papillion look forward to making the trip to Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha every day to see their baby Nathan. He was born on December 18th, sixteen weeks early and was one of the smallest babies ever born in Nebraska. Dr. Brendan Connealy they made the decision perform a C-Section after Mary was diagnosed with preeclampsia.
Baby Nathan arrived weighing just 15 ounces. Dr. Connealy says Nathan is the exception and not the norm when it comes to babies delivered this early. He has had pneumonia, kidney problems and bleeding on the brain but he keeps fighting.
Mary Tepley says, “I enjoy every little gram we gain every night and every change he makes every day and every little stride.”
Nathan now weighs about five pounds and if all goes well his parents could be celebrating his homecoming in about another month.
