Gov. Pete Ricketts has appointed Pat Berggren of Broken Bow to fill the remainder of his late father’s term on the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
The appointment of Berggren to fill the vacant District 6 commissioner position was effective March 11th. The term expires January 15th of next year.
Lynn Berggren, who had been on the Game and Parks board since 2007, died February 16th.
“I want to thank Governor Rickets for this appointment, although bittersweet, I am excited about serving the outdoor enthusiasts of Nebraska and diving right in to continue promoting the good things that Nebraska has to offer,” Pat Berggren said in a written statement released by Game and Parks.
Pat Berggren has served as president of the One Box Pheasant Hunt. He is active in many outdoor activities, such as fishing, hunting, boating, and camping.
District 6 encompasses much of the Sandhills and north-central Nebraska, serving 21 counties.
