The state unemployment rate didn’t budge in February.
The State Department of Labor reports the preliminary unemployment rate for last month stood still at 3%, which is two-tenths of a point higher than the February rate of a year ago.
The private sectors of education and health services, financial activities, and information led employment growth in February.
The unemployment rate in Omaha also was unchanged in February, at 3.6%. The Lincoln unemployment rate dipped from 3% in January to 2.8%.
The state unemployment rate is well below the national rate of 4.9%.
