Shortstop Austin Nola slammed a pair of homers as New Orleans topped the Omaha Storm Chasers 7-4 to close out a four-game Pacific coast League Series Sunday in Werner Park.
The Zephyrs took command by scoring four runs in the top of the seventh then held off a late Omaha rally as the teams split the four game set.
“The thing I like is we loaded the bases in the eighth and got some runs in”, said Omaha manager Brian Poldberg. “The guys keep battling and come back and don’t give up. After a couple of those plays you could put your head down and call it a day but they don’t do that.”
It was also the second game in Omaha for outfielder Jarrod Dyson as part of his Major League Rehab Assignment, going 0-for-2 with a walk over his three at bats in the five innings he played. The Storms Chasers continue their homestand this evening by opening a series against the Round Rock Express.
