It has been a long journey for Kearney native Luke McNitt who could become the starting fullback for Nebraska. McNitt began his college career as a quarterback at Nebraska-Kearney before transferring to Nebraska.
He got on the field last season in a special teams role as a reserve tight end.
“The way things worked I don’t think I would change a thing”, said McNitt. “It was nice to play another year in my hometown and play quarterback but I felt like I knew I could not play quarterback at the next level but there are other positions that I might be able to better fit into at division one.”
The Huskers return to the practice field this afternoon.
