Brett Murray’s one-out single in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Creighton Baseball team to a 4-3 walk-off victory over Nebraska in front of 6,880 fans at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
The triumph was Creighton’s first in the series after seven straight losses and the Blue Jays’ first walk-off victory over the Huskers since April 5, 2005, when Matt Daeges had an RBI double to give Creighton a win by an identical 4-3 score.
David Gerber earned his first career win after throwing a scoreless ninth inning to give the Bluejays the chance for the victory. Max Knutson picked up his first loss of the season after throwing the final inning and a third for the Huskers.
The third and final game of the series will be April 26 in TD Ameritrade Park.
