With two weeks remaining the Doane College softball team is in the hunt for a second straight Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season title. The Tigers are in second place at 11-3, a game behind first place Morningside, heading into Tuesday’s doubleheader at home against Nebraska Wesleyan.
Doane won its first-ever regular season title in 2015.
“So it is new ground for us and that was my goal when I came four years ago just to get us to that point where we are competing ever year”, said Doane coach Renae Littrell. “Every year is new for us which is fun.”
After the doubleheader against Nebraska Wesleyan the Tigers travel to Sioux City on Wednesday for a showdown with Morningside.
“We need to keep our eyes on the prize and regardless of what happens on Wednesday we still have four games remaining so we will still have work to do.”
