Nebraska junior Andrew White is taking advantage of a new rule that allows him to declare for the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility.
White will be able to start attending workouts scheduled by NBA teams on April 26 and is eligible to compete in the NBA Draft Combine, scheduled for May 10-15 in Chicago. He will have until May 25 to keep his name in or withdraw from the Draft and maintain his eligibility. He is not hiring an agent.
“We support Andrew fully in this process, and we will help him in every way we can”, said Husker coach Tim Miles. “We would love to have him back here at Nebraska, but we will support him as he tests the waters on this process.”
White, a 6-foot-7, 216-pound guard, earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten honors in 2016, as he averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
