Another thunderstorm is bearing down on Nebraska.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 o’clock this morning for 13 counties in southern and southeastern Nebraska, including the cities of Beatrice, Falls City, and Nebraska City.
It could be a rough weather day.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected in parts of the state throughout the day, with severe storms possible this evening as well. The system is expected to continue overnight and spill into Wednesday with thunderstorms finally moving out of the area early tomorrow afternoon.
NWS meteorologists say this severe weather system threatens the entire Central Plains and could produce tornadoes. The system which likely will affect eastern Nebraska could produce damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain.
A storm Sunday evening produced a tornado near Superior, which caused little if any damage.
