U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas will bring his presidential campaign to Nebraska.
Cruz will host a noon rally at the Embassy Suites in downtown Lincoln tomorrow, the day after the crucial Indiana primary and within a week of the Nebraska primary.
Cruz, who trails Republican front-runner Donald Trump, hopes to keep Trump from gathering the necessary 1,237 delegates needed to secure the Republican Party nomination at the convention in Cleveland later this year.
The Cruz campaign plans to stop in Nebraska, then make a trip to Washington. Nebraska holds its primary May 10th. Washington Republicans cast ballots two weeks after that.
Most political pundits say the math is working against Cruz and in favor of Trump, especially if Trump wins today’s primary in Indiana.
Thirty-six delegates are at stake in Nebraska Republican primary.
