Severe weather has returned to Nebraska, bringing high winds, heavy rain, hail, and reports of tornadoes.
Thunderstorms rolled through the southeastern portion of the state late in the afternoon, around 4:30.
Hail of various size pelted Lincoln. Funnel clouds formed around 84th Street and Highway 2 in southeastern Nebraska. Other reports of funnel clouds were relayed to authorities as the heart of the storm moved through the city.
The National Weather Service has issued a series of warnings throughout the afternoon.
Authorities report a tornado on the ground in Hickman, shortly after 5 o’clock.
Another twister was reported south of Omaha, near the town of Nehawka, where a house was demolished. Reports say the homeowner wasn’t able to get inside before the storm hit so he held onto a tree to ride out the storm.
There are no reports of any injuries.
