Three people died in a collision in western Nebraska in which a stolen pick-up slammed into a semi hauling a fuel tank head-on.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reports the pick-up was traveling north on U.S. Highway 83 three miles south of North Platte Wednesday evening when it attempted to pass another vehicle and ran into the semi.
The driver of the pick-up, 28-year-old Shane O’Conner of Westminster, Colorado, died at the scene. A passenger in the pick-up, 32-year-old Craig Vanmeter of North Platte, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The truck driver, 66-year-old Ralph Brandt of Ovid, Colorado, died at the scene.
The pick-up was reported stolen from Westminster, Colorado.
