State Corrections officials say no adjustments were made to the sentences of 15 inmates after the Department of Correctional Services underwent a massive sentencing overhaul in light of the discovery of widespread sentence miscalculations.
A staff member with the department discovered the mistake, made by staff under the previous administration who are no longer with the department.
The corrections were not made for the 15 inmates in 2014. Ten of the inmates remain in prison. Their sentences are being recalculated. Two others are serving time elsewhere. One has been deported. Another has been discharged. An inmate released due to a miscalculation of his sentence has been apprehended.
The discovery prompted an examination of more than 900 other sentences by the department. No additional errors have been discovered.
