An armed robber entered a Lincoln convenience store very early Thursday morning, pulled out a gun and shot the clerk dead.
Lincoln police responded to an emergency call at 14th and Adams Streets around 1:30am. A bystander had begun giving emergency aid to the clerk. Officer arrived and began CPR. The man was pronounced dead shortly after 1:40am.
Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister, during a briefing with reporters, said there were people outside the store at the time of the shooting, but the clerk was the only person inside the store.
Witness accounts as well as surveillance video give the following identification:
Black male, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-6 with a medium build. He was wearing a black short-sleeve T-shirt and camouflage pants with a black glove on his right hand and a piece of white clothing tied over his head.
Officers used police dogs to search the area around the store to no avail.
Lincoln police are asking the public’s help in finding the killer.
