The organs of a racecar driver who died in a Lincoln hospital have been donated to five other people his family has confirmed.
Bryan Clauson, a 27-year-old Sprint car racer, was flown to Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln after suffering critical injuries in a crash during the 39th annual Belleville Nationals at the fairgrounds in Belleville, Kansas Saturday night.
Clauson died Sunday.
The Clauson family, on the Bryan Clauson Facebook page, thanked the Nebraska Organ Recovery team for making the entire process “very comforting.” The family wrote of the team, “Thank you for loving Bryan.”
Family members say that while they were saying their final goodbyes to Bryan they knew other family members were comforted by the “miracle that Bryan ultimately delivered for them.”
