With two weeks of fall camp complete Husker coach Mike Riley says his team has showed it can handle adversity. First, there was the death of punter Sam Foltz in a car accident this summer and now the absence of assistant coach Keith Williams following his drunk driving arrest this past weekend.
“I think the focus has been good and the leadership is good”, said Riley. “I like this team a lot.”
Riley says it is impossible to predict how individuals are going to react but he says the attitude has remained positive.
“This has to look like they are enjoying it and with all the stuff that has gone on with these young men I think they have done really well.”
Riley is confident that attitude will remain heading into the season opener against Fresno State in a little more than two weeks.
