A 43-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in Omaha and the driver of the car that pulled in front of him has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and driving under the influence.
The Omaha Police Department reports Justin Hart of Omaha died from injuries sustained in the wreck.
59-year-old Kevin Malone has been charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury crash which results in death, his fourth driving-under-the-influence, driving without an ignition interlock, driving under suspension, no valid registration, and no proof of insurance.
The police report says Hart was riding west on West Center Road in Omaha in the early evening hours of Wednesday, approaching the intersection with 140th Street. Malone was driving his car east on West Center when he turned to go north on 140th and turned into the path of the motorcycle which struck the side of the car. The car fled the scene.
Hart was taken to Nebraska Medicine with critical injuries. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Several witnesses provided police with a description of the car and driver. Others led police to his home where he was arrested.
