There is more fallout from Papillion Senator Bill Kintner’s cybersex scandal. Omaha Senator Ernie Chambers sent a multi-page rhyme document to his colleagues in the Legislature that mentions Kintner’s wife, who is battling cancer. Kintner says he admitted to having cybersex on a state owned computer, paid a fine and apologized and he is furious that Chambers would make fun of his wife and her serious medical condition.
Kintner says, “I am absolutely disgusted and yes, I demand he apologizes to my wife. He can say what he wants to about me. He has attacked me every which way but north and I haven’t said much but when he goes after my wife that is entirely too far.”
Kintner’s formal reaction to Chambers document stated:
“It was absolutely inappropriate for Ernie Chambers to attack and make fun of my wife and her serious medical condition. I have said nothing about Chambers’ vile attacks on me, but my wife has done nothing to him. Using her to try and score political points is a new low, even for Chambers.”
“I expect Chambers to be a man and apologize to my wife.”
Kintner is hopeful that everyone learns a lesson from his mistake and the whole issue calms down so lawmakers can again focus on important issues that impacts all Nebraskans.
