Omaha police are looking into possible threats of violence involving threats associated with the clown craze that is sweeping the country. Omaha Police spokesperson Officer Michael Pecha says they are conducting active investigations and working with schools.
Officer Pecha says, “Our main concern is that some of these threats involved threats of bringing a gun to school or threats of violence. We are taking these threats seriously and we are following up. We want people to be aware that even if think this is a joke or they are having fun, if we find out who is making these threats could face criminal charges.”
Some of the threats on social media earlier this week mentioned Burke, Northwest and Omaha South High Schools. A student at Papillion La Vista faces punishment for photo shopping a picture of a clown onto school grounds. Officials are urging parents to speak to their children to not get involved in this menacing clown craze.
