Parents and students in the Westside School District in Omaha contacted police Wednesday evening after seeing a threat against the high school on social media. District spokesperson Brandi Petersen says Omaha police immediately started investigating and tracked down the suspect who was placed under arrest. That investigation discovered a similar threat that led to the arrest of a second person.
Petersen says the threat was vague and the suspects told police that it was a joke. She says threats are no laughing matter and each and every one will be investigated.
The threat was made against the high school and no others schools in the district were included. Petersen says no students were threatened. School is in session today.
