Despite a loss in Nebraska’s Second Congressional District, former U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson says the effort Democrats put into it will net results in future elections.
“It’ll help people understand every vote counts and you work hard to do it and it can’t just be about the state doing it,” Nelson tells Nebraska Radio Network affiliate KLIN. “So, people can be energized locally, by district in Nebraska.”
Second District Democrat Brad Ashford narrowly lost his reelection bid to Republican Don Bacon.
Hillary Clinton lost the district’s Electoral College vote by 3 percent to President-elect Don Trump.
