U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) says Nebraska’s all-Republican congressional delegation is going to work on policies that support families, workers, and businesses.
“We’re going to keep our country safe,” Fischer told Republican supporters at a campaign event Tuesday night. “We’re going to make sure we have national security, we have economic security, and we have the security needed for our Nebraska families.”
Fischer is crediting a youthful campaign effort for Republican victories in the 2nd Congressional District and a diverse base of support that helped elect Don Bacon as congressman and gave the Electoral College vote to Donald Trump.
“We need to keep this enthusiasm,” she says. “We need to keep the commitment. We need to keep the dedication that we have as the Republican Party here in the State of Nebraska.”
Fischer, the state’s senior senator, is up for reelection during the 2018 midterm election.
