Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong returns to practice this afternoon but still has not been cleared to play against Minnesota. Husker offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf says Armstrong has been preparing to play even though he has been going through concussion protocol.
“A lot of meeting time”, said Langsdorf. “He is not getting the practice reps but is getting the mental reps and that has been a big part of this week.”
Armstrong is expected to take part in a limited amount of drills and if he is not cleared the Huskers will go with senior Ryker Fyfe.
“He is playing fast and he gets rid of the ball well and all year he has done a nice job of being ready to play. There is not a major panic in terms of the game plan and I think he has had a good week.”
