Nebraska needs a victory over Minnesota Saturday night to stay in the title hunt in the Big Ten West Division. The Huskers are 4-2 in the conference race after a pair of road losses and return home where the odds are in their favor. They have won 18 straight home games under the lights, a streak that dates back to 2008.
“I know our fans will help us and I know the atmosphere will be great but it will eventually become about the football”, said Nebraska coach Mike Riley. “I am real excited for us to play and rebound.”
After stumbling out of the gate to an 0-2 in the league race the Gophers have won four straight and need a win to maintain control of their own destiny in the division race. The Gophers won in Lincoln back in 2014.
“Going into a hostile environment like that and having success it definitely helps going down there a second time”, said Minnesota quarterback Mitch Leidner. “It helps guys have a lot of confidence going into that situation.”
Kickoff in Memorial Stadium is 6:30p.m. The game will be carried by the Big Ten Network.
