A 13-year-old Lincoln girl has been struck and killed in heavy traffic after the Nebraska-Minnesota football game Saturday night.
Lincoln police say Taylor Miller was attempting to cross West O Street near Northwest 20th at around 10:30pm, about an hour after the Nebraska game at Memorial Stadium.
Police say Miller was walking with two friends. She was hit by a pick-up traveling east on O. Miller died at the scene. Her two friends were uninjured. The identity of the driver was not been released. No arrests have been made. The investigation continues.
Miller was an 8th Grade student at Irving Middle School in Lincoln.
Irving Principal Jason Shanahan says a crisis response team is at the school to meet with students and staff. In an email to parents, Shanahan indicated the driver was a Lincoln Public Schools student.
