A toddler in Bellevue that was rushed to a hospital on Sunday has died. Bellevue Police Investigator Laurie Synowiecki says an ambulance was called to the home after the little girl was found unresponsive in a bathtub. She says as time went by and the investigation continued, information was learned that Armond Floyd, the caretaker of the little girl, was responsible for the injuries Imani Edwards received. He was arrested on child abuse charges on Monday.
Synowiecki says Imani was the daughter of Floyd’s girlfriend and she was at work at the time. The couple also had an infant who was home at the time but not harmed.
Police records show that Floyd had been arrested last month for domestic violence, false imprisonment, interfering with a public servant and child abuse in connection to his girlfriend and the children. Floyd was arrested but bonded out of jail on October 31st.
Imani Edwards would have turned two on Friday.
