Ryker Fyfe has taken all first team snaps at quarterback as Nebraska gets ready to host Maryland. Tommy Armstrong suffered a hamstring injury in a win over Minnesota and has not practiced this week.
“It is a little bit like last week where we have to plan with Ryker playing”, said Husker offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf. “We will have some plays for both then see where we are at.”
It is the second straight week that Fyfe has prepared to be the starter. Armstrong missed the first three days of practice leading up to the game against Minnesota will going through concussion protocol.
Langsdorf says while Fyfe and Armstrong have different strengths they have not developed two entire game plans.
“It is not like we have a whole bunch of different stuff especially at this point of the year”, added Langsdorf. “We have had good work with Ryker and some different plays with him in some aspects but we are not going to change a whole lot in terms of the game plan.”
