This is one of the busiest travel days of the year and for Nebraskans who are not frequent fliers, the Transportation Safety Administration has a reminder about how to pack a carry-on bag.
TSA Officer Sean Oberstadt says passengers often forget to keep liquids under the limit, so be sure to put any holiday spirits and items that may hold sentimental value in a checked bag.
“A lot of people, they bring through a snow globe,” Oberstadt says. “If you need to travel with it, go ahead and put it in your checked luggage, but through the TSA checkpoint, make sure that the liquid inside that snow globe under 3.4 ounces.”
Oberstadt also recommends waiting to wrap presents this holiday season until you after you land, as TSA agents may have to unwrap that gift to make sure the package isn’t prohibited.
He also recommends getting to the airport an hour and a half before domestic flights, earlier if you’re flying internationally.
