The defending national champion Nebraska volleyball team could play four straight home matches in an effort to reach the NCAA Final Four in Columbus, Ohio. The Huskers are the No. 1 overall seed in NCAA Tournament and will open Friday against New Hampshire in the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The other first round match will pit Wichita State against TCU. Nebraska (27-2) won its second Big Ten championship with a record of 18-2.
“The mindset and effort each day is they come to the gym and they work on getting better”, said Husker coach John Cook. “That is all I can ask for is they are making that effort.”
After rolling to the Big East title with an 18-0 record 21st ranked Creighton travels to Lawrence, Kansas and will play Northern Iowa in a Thursday afternoon opening round contest. Fourth seeded Kansas plays Samford in the other first round contest.
