The Omaha Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is investigating a complaint of inappropriate sexual contact between an adult male softball coach and a juvenile female. The suspect, 46 year old Daryl Clark was arrested and booked on one count of first degree sexual assault of a child, which is a felony.
Clark is employed by the Omaha Public School District and teaches at Monroe Middle School. Clark is the girls softball coach for Echoes Fast Pitch based in Papillion and is the Junior Varsity Girls Softball coach at Bellevue West High School.
The victim and her family in this case are cooperating with detectives. Investigators are not aware of any additional victims but this is an ongoing investigation.
The Douglas County Attorney’s Office was consulted during the early stages of the investigation. The Special Victims Unit works in conjunction with Project Harmony and will utilize their services to assist the victim during the investigation process.
