The 21st ranked Creighton volleyball team takes a 22-match winning streak to Austin, Texas this week for a second straight appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16. The Bluejays will play No. 17 Michigan in Friday’s regional semifinal round.
“We are definitely going there with the idea that we have the opportunity to win”, said Creighton coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth. “Everyone that is left at this point is good so we will be ready to go.”
The Bluejays advanced by stunning fourth ranked Kansas in five sets in Lawrence.
“Everyone is talking about the KU match but we could have just as easily lost to Northern Iowa because that went to five sets as well”, added Bernthal Booth. “The team will show up and be ready to go.
Fifth ranked Texas will play No. 10 BYU in the other semifinal. The winners meet Saturday for the right to advance to the Final Four.
