Senator Deb Fischer is among a group of 20-plus senators who are calling on President Obama to refrain from signing any more regulatory letters during his last six weeks in office. Senator Fischer says they have not gotten a response yet but obviously lawmakers understand the problems with these regulations that range from the clean power plan, OSHA to farm fuel storage tanks.
Senator Fischer is encouraged that President Elect Donald Trump intends to reverse many of these regulations. She says, “I just happened to visit with Mr. Trump yesterday and we talked about regulations and yes, he plans to hit the ground running and do as much as he possibly can and to be able to work with the Senate and the House so we can roll back as much as we possibly can on these things.”
Senator Fischer says the increase in federal regulation is hampering small businesses in Nebraska.
