Tenth ranked Creighton outscored Nebraska 46-32 in the second half for a 77-62 victory in Pinnacle Bank Arena. It was the Bluejays sixth straight win in the series
“They are an extremely talented team, well coached and they beat us tonight”, said Nebraska coach Tim Miles. “It makes me disappointed and sick to my stomach that we could not foster a better fight.”
Creighton led 31-30 at halftime but broke the game open in the second half with a 12-0 run as the Bluejays improve to 9-0.
“We had to win kind of an ugly game”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “They’re trying to make us play that way. This is probably the fewest fast-break points we’ve had on the season, but we still got twelve of them. And some of them, and some of them come at key times.”
Maurice Watson Jr. led Creighton with 25 points. Tai Webster had 20 points to pace Nebraska. The Huskers made only 3-of-22 from three point range as they fall to 5-4.
