The Nebraska football team officially begins preparations for the December 30 Music City Bowl against Tennessee. There are question marks about the health of quarterback Tommy Armstrong, who struggled with an injured hamstring in a loss at Iowa. Back up Ryker Fyfe had surgery on his left wrist after leading Nebraska to a win over Maryland in the next to last game of the regular season.
“The first we have to do is see who is healthy and what that timetable really means”, said Husker coach Mike Riley. “Tommy will start if he is going to be healthy for a good period of preparation time.”
The Huskers are 9-3 while the Volunteers are 8-4 after falling to Vanderbilt in their regular season finale.
