Nebraska leading receiver Jordan Westerkamp will not play in the Music City Bowl against Tennessee after suffering a knee injury in Wednesday’s practice.
“We obviously hate to lose Jordan”, said Nebraska coach Mike Riley. “It was a non-contact injury and he was just making a cut. There were not any ligaments involved. It involved his meniscus.”
Riley says the injury will require surgery and Westerkamp is expected to be sidelined for three months.
“Jordan will be healed in time to be tested and evaluated before the NFL Draft.”
Westerkamp finishes his career with 167 catches for 2,474 yards and 18 touchdowns. He ranks fourth all-time in receiving yards and fourth in career touchdown receptions.
