With Tommy Armstrong sidelined with a hamstring injury Ryker Fyfe is expected to start Friday’s Music City Bowl at quarterback when Nebraska plays Tennessee. The Grand Island native will be making his third start of his career in his final game in a Husker uniform.
“It means a lot”, said Fyfe. “It has been a long journey and not knowing if you are going to play much is the risk you take walking on but it pays off.”
Husker offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf says Fyfe has played well in practice and says having the last month to prepare has given Fyfe a confidence boost.
“He had a ton of work this last month”, said Langsdorf. “He is ready to go.”
