Tenth ranked Creighton is now 13-0 after opening Big East play with an 89-75 victory over Seton Hall. It sets up a huge game on Saturday afternoon when top ranked and defending national champion Villanova visits the CenturyLink Center.
“If I would have told you five years ago we are going to play the number one team in the country, that we would be ranked number nine and we would be in the Big East you would have told me I was crazy”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “It is going to be incredible and is a big opportunity for us.”
All five Bluejay starters scored in double-figures for Creighton against Seton Hall, led by 21 points and 10 assists by Maurice Watson Jr. Creighton shot 56.6 percent for the game and swiped 13 steals while forcing The Hall into 18 turnovers. CU converted those Pirate miscues into 27 points.
