Nebraska-Kearney eyes Lynn for football post

January 3, 2017 By Todd Kimm

Josh Lynn

Nebraska-Kearney’s search for a new head football coach may be coming to an end. Josh Lynn has resigned as the head coach at Eastern New Mexico University after telling the Eastern New Mexico News he was mulling an offer to become the Lopers’ new head coach.

Lynn compiled a career record of 27-25 at Eastern. He initially went 3-7 his first season, but those three wins were vacated due to an NCAA punishment. The school self-reported violations, and vacated four seasons of victories for numerous programs due to administrative errors that led to teams using ineligible players.

He would replace Josh Lamberson at UNK who resigned after two seasons to become an assistant coach at Abilene Christian.
