Hundreds of Nebraskans have traveled to Washington, D.C. to be part of history: the inauguration of Donald Trump as president.
U.S. Senator Deb Fischer says there has been quite a bit of demand for tickets. Her office quickly handed out the 400 tickets to the inauguration is was allocated. The office fielded requests for twice that many. Fischer says some of the other offices kindly gave their tickets to her office.
Fischer says she has enjoyed talking with the Nebraskans who have made the trip to the nation’s capital.
“Well, I think they’re have a good time, Fischer tells Nebraska reporters during a conference call. “They’ve been telling me their stories about traveling on the Metro and walking down the mall and stopping in museums. Yes, it’s a fun time. It’s an historic time and Nebraskans are enjoying themselves.”
