Two young Nebraska women died in two separate single-vehicle crashes over the weekend.
Lancaster County Chief Deputy Sheriff Todd Duncan says 25-year-old Kenan Mackey of Davey died Sunday afternoon when she lost control of her car on Waverly Road.
Twenty-five-year-old Melissa Vifquain of Lincoln was killed in a one vehicle accident Saturday on West Denton Road. Duncan says that it appears she also lost control of her car and rolled down a ditch.
Lancaster County Chief Deputy Sheriff Todd Duncan has a warning for drivers in wake of the fatal wrecks on county roads.
“When driving on county roads, we don’t always have a paved or concrete shoulder on the road, to be very careful when a vehicle starts to leave the roadway not to overcorrect too much to regain control of the vehicle,” Duncan tells reporters during a media briefing.
The investigations into the fatal wrecks continues.
