Creighton looks to bounce back on the road in BIG EAST play on Wednesday night when the 16th ranked Bluejays visit Georgetown. Creighton is coming off a 102-94 loss at home to Marquette, their first game since announcing star point guard Maurice Watson will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
“We are working to replace him on the floor and we are also working to replace what his leadership meant to our team”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “It is not going to happen in days and may not happen in weeks but my goal is to continue to get better each and every day and if we do that and are playing our best basketball in March we will let the chips fall where they may.”
Creighton is unbeaten in five road games and visits a Georgetown team that at 1-6 in the BIG EAST is desperate for a win.
“I think it is the only place we have not won in the BIG EAST in four years”, added McDermott. “We kind of gave one away last year.”
Tipoff Wednesday at the Verizon Center is 6:01p.m. The game will be televised by FOX Sports Midwest.
